The Obstacle Gym

One of the first of it's kind and designed for OCR and Fitness

On the 3rd February 2018 come and experience one of the best Obstacle Course Race training facilities in the Midlands. Obstacles, mud, forest trail, they have it all. Around 45 obstacles set on a 1200m course - the ultimate way to prepare for OCR whether it is your first time or you are a seasoned regular.

To book this please visit and select 3rd Feb on the available dates. This ticket is for a 4 hour weekend training session starting at Saturday 10.00am. We would recommend getting there 9.30am latest to get yourself sorted.

Then in the evening it's time to party with a few drinkies and Karaoke. The venue for this is yet to be confirmed and it's completely optional if you attend.

Both these activities are a great way to meet fellow group members at a leisurely pace rather than the hustle and bustle of race day.

Hope to see some of you there!!

Over the last four or five years Obstacle Course Running (OCR) has become more of a household name, with the events attracting larger numbers than ever before. But bespoke training for these "assault course" events has up until now been difficult to replicate. Your normal training run, even a trail run, doesn't generally incorporate many walls, monkey bars, A-frames, crawl unders, rope climbs, mud filled ditches and water crossings.

At the Obstacle Gym the experienced design team have put together a course that ticks all these training boxes. The 900 metre course set in the quiet Leicestershire woods in Shawell, offers more than just tricky trail running terrain, but also includes 30 obstacles that take you from a belly crawl right up high on balance beams, walls, ropes and A-frames. Obstacles range from wet to dry and there is always mud on the course.

The Obstacle Gym (TOG) staff are always on hand to give advice and training tips for all kinds of obstacles and fitness issues.
